BP is facing increasing over the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The latest public gaffe came from the company’s CEO Tony Hayward. He a lot of anger among Americans when he complained about how the was affecting him personally. He told reporters that he "would like his life back". Many people thought this was a comment from a millionaire businessman. Eleven oil workers died and 17 were in the explosion that started the on April 20th. Hayward posted an apology on BP’s Facebook page. He wrote: "I made a and thoughtless comment….I apologize, to the families of the 11 men who lost their lives in this accident.”

Meanwhile, oil continues to from the broken pipe. Experts say between 12,000–100,000 a day are spilling into the sea, which is 1,900,000–16,000,000 litres. It is now the oil spill in U.S. history. It will result in damage to the Gulf of Mexico’s fishing industry, , marine , wildlife and environment. Hayward’s apologies continue in the form of national TV ads. He says: "The Gulf spill is a that never should have happened…BP has taken responsibility for cleaning up the spill in the Gulf. We've helped organize the largest environmental in this country's history.…And our cleanup will not come at any cost to taxpayers.”
