The Reading / Listening - Level 0

Kenya will have a new marriage law. Women hate it. Men can have many wives. They can marry other women without telling their wife. There was a big argument and female lawmakers walked out. They do not want men to have more than one wife. A man said the law was OK because divorced women get 30% of the house and money.

A man said this was Kenya's tradition. He said women should know men have other wives. A newspaper said Kenya wasn't modern. It said the new law was backwards. It wants families to be stronger. A woman said the law is unfair because the second wife will take all the money. She said men are afraid of angry women.
