Authorities in India have expelled 600 high school students for cheating in their examinations. The pupils used a novel and dangerous way to get help with their tests – their parents climbed the school walls and gave the answers to questions through the windows. Photographs and videos of this illegal technique have gone viral. They show dozens of parents hanging on to the walls to feed information to their kids. Some parents were three stories up. Teachers found many cheat sheets in the classroom. Some were folded into paper airplanes that were thrown threw the window.

Over 1.4 million 10th graders are taking the tests at over 1,200 high schools across Bihar state. Bihar's education minister told reporters that schools faced a difficult job to ensure exams were secure. He said: "It's virtually impossible to conduct fair examinations without the cooperation of parents." He said it was difficult to monitor parents who take their children to school. The problem of parents helping their children cheat has become so common that police officers are posted to each school. An official said, "we can't use force to drive away the parents".
