Jurassic World has broken office records around the world. It is the movie to make more than $500 million on its weekend. Ticket in the US were $204 million. In China, they were $100 million. A analyst said about Jurassic World's opening weekend : "No one saw this coming." The record for the most movie on an opening weekend in the US is held by The Avengers. This took $207 million in 2012. The success of Jurassic World surprised many industry . They thought the film would make $100 million in the USA.

Jurassic World is the fourth of the Jurassic Park series. The was Jurassic Park in 1993. The movie was the most popular in all 66 countries where it was released. There are many for this. One reason is because many who watched the first Jurassic Park when they were took their own kids to see Jurassic World. Another reason is because the movie opened in China and in the US on the weekend. It is unusual for a movie to be released at the time in both countries. China is the world's second film market.
