READING:

French DJs are angry about a new rule. They are already unhappy because 40 per cent of radio songs must be in French. Now the French songs must all be different. French people might switch to streaming services instead of listening to the radio. Many French singers already sing in English to be popular around the world.

The new rule is to protect French culture, music and language from the English language. French musicians said the new law is necessary. They said radio stations should not be, "allowed to do what they want when it comes to language". One musician said it is important for French musicians and singers to make money.
