People eat first "Google burger"

Two people ate meat grown in a lab. It is the first time anyone has done this. Google's boss Sergey Brin gave $380,000 for the project. It took two months to grow tiny pieces of meat from stem cells. We might all eat this meat in ten years. Mr Brin doesn't want animals killed for food. He thinks this meat is good for the environment.

Two people tested the burger's taste. A food scientist said it was "close to meat," but wasn't juicy. A writer said it was dry because it had no fat. He said it was like a real burger. Reporters wanted a taste, but there was only one burger. Children would get any leftovers. Cells from one cow can make 175 million burgers.
