One in three EU women experienced violence
Almost 62 million women in the EU have experienced violence. The EU talked to 42,000 women about violence at home and at work. The women spoke about the violence. Around 22% of women had violent husbands or boyfriends. Around 67 per cent of women never tell the police about violence. The EU wants to protect women. They want to make domestic violence a crime. The EU said violence against women is a human rights abuse that happens often in Europe. People must understand this problem affects everyone. It affects many people every day. There is a link between alcohol and violence. |
