The new airport will cover 57 square kilometres. A spokesperson said it is part of Saudi Arabia's vision "to transform Riyadh to be among the top ten city economies in the world". The new airport will be green and sustainable. Planners made cutting-edge designs for it. It will be powered by renewable energy.
