Three-month state of emergency declared in Turkey
There is a three-month state of emergency in Turkey after two deadly earthquakes. The powerful quakes hit nine hours apart. The first was a magnitude 7.5 and the second was 7.8. They are two of the biggest quakes ever in Turkey. They caused a lot of death and damage in Turkey and Syria. Turkey's president warned of a "large number of aftershocks". Search and rescue teams are trying to reach the disaster areas. The conditions and weather are terrible. |
