| Mummy removed from exhibition over 'lack of consent'
A museum in Scotland has removed parts of an Egyptian mummy from an exhibition because there is no evidence that it gave consent for its remains to be displayed. The museum is in Glasgow. It took away the remains of a priest named Nakht, a mummified head, and other body parts. In place of the remains, visitors found signs explaining that the exhibits had been removed "as a mark of respect". The museum said its decision "reflects contemporary museum practice". It added with no consent, removing ancient human remains from display is more respectful to the deceased. |
