ROLE PLAY
Role A – Santosh Kumar
You are shocked at your treatment by Emarat. Tell the other three reasons why. You work very long hours in dangerous conditions. You know your bosses earn over 20 times more than you. You need tips because your salary is so low. You want compensation. Ask why the oil-rich company is so mean. |
Role B – Emarat boss
You think Santosh deserved to be sacked and will get no compensation. Tell the other three reasons why. You are fed up with gas pump workers complaining. You treat them all with love and care. They are lucky to have their job. Emarat is a great employer. Tell the other three reasons why. |
Role C – Dubai motorist
You will never go Emarat again unless Santosh gets compensation. Tell the other 3 reasons why. Ask Emarat's boss why workers are treated so badly – strip searched, low paid, long hours, boiling conditions… Do not accept any of his/her answers. Ask Santosh to reveal more bad things about Emarat. |
Role D – Lawyer
Tell Santosh and the Dubai motorist he was wrong for breaking Emarat's rules. He was told in his training never to accept tips. Tell the Emarat boss the company is breaking the law by strip searching staff and that the company must compensate Santosh to restore the company's image. |
