The Reading / Listening - Level 1

American singer Beyonce surprised her fans. She released her new album without advertising it or telling anyone. It is one of the biggest secrets in music history. She wanted to tell her fans herself. She did not want her record company to tell them. It was also a surprise for other singers. She didn't want anything to get between her music and her fans. She said she didn’t want anybody to talk about her new record before she did.

Beyonce's new album is only on iTunes. People can only download it from that site. It has 14 new songs and 17 videos. She wanted to do something that people would remember. She said was very excited when she first saw Michael Jackson's Thriller video. She wanted to do something similar. Her album sold 80,000 copies in the first three hours. Millions of people tweeted about it. There were more than 1.2 million tweets in the first 12 hours.
