A British tourist must leave Sri Lanka because of her Buddha tattoo. She was arrested at the airport. She is waiting for a plane back to the U.K. Passport workers said the tattoo hurt Sri Lankan culture and religion. Most Sri Lankans are Buddhist. They think a tattoo of Buddha is bad. The woman did not think her tattoo was bad.

Tourists in Sri Lanka sometimes get in trouble. One had to leave for being rude to passport officers. Three others kissed a Buddha statue and nearly went to prison. R&B star Akon could not get a Sri Lanka visa. A video for his song showed a party in front of a statue of Buddha. Tourists should not take photos in front of Buddha statues.
