A new Batman movie is coming and its director could be announced soon. Ben Affleck was going to direct the movie 'The Batman' but changed his mind. It might now be 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' director Matt Reeves. Affleck said it was a tough decision but explained he could not act in as well as direct 'The Batman'. He said: "Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give….I cannot do both jobs to the level they require….I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film."
Mr Affleck stepped down from the role late last month. The movie industry magazine 'Variety' reports that Mr Reeves is now talking to the production company Warner Bros. Sources revealed that the studio has met Mr Reeves many times. Reeves is currently in post-production with his latest Planet of the Apes movie. Variety said it should be no problem for him to take over as 'The Batman' director, probably later this year. Filming was due to begin in May, as the script has already been written. However, it is now expected to begin later in 2017.
