Scientists from NASA have confirmed that asteroids will not be danger to Earth for next 100 years. This is good news for anyone who was worrying about end of world. NASA has been monitoring an asteroid called Apophis for 17 years. They discovered the 335-metre space rock in 2004. They thought it could be danger to our planet, so they put it on their list of most hazardous asteroids that could threaten Earth. scientists originally said the asteroid could kill over 10 million people if it hit Earth. They predicted it could hit our planet in 2029. They later changed this to 2068. However, their latest prediction is that Earth will be safe from Apophis for next 100 years.

The scientists used radar to predict asteroid's orbit around sun. NASA scientist Marina Brozovic said: "We were able to acquire incredibly precise information about its distance to accuracy of about 150 meters." She said giant space rock is currently " safe distance of 10.6 million miles away from Earth". However, Apophis will come closer in 2029. It will come within 20,000 miles of Earth on April 13th in that year. Another scientist was glad Apophis is no longer danger to us. He said: "There's certain sense of satisfaction to see it removed from risk list, and we're looking forward to science we might uncover during its close approach to Earth in 2029."
