The Reading / Listening - Sesame Street - Level 1

Sesame Street is moving to Netflix. The show started in 1969. It is a much-loved programme. There have been 4,731 episodes over 55 seasons. Netflix said the show excites young minds and encourages a love of learning. In the show's 56th season, we will see a return of popular parts of the show like Elmo's World. Well-known characters like Big Bird, Count von Count and Abby Cadabby will also be there to entertain children.

The Netflix streaming deal means Sesame Street will educate children for many years. Netflix said the show brings important "early learning to children…for free". Education is why Sesame Street started. A psychologist and TV producer thought of the idea. They worked with Harvard University to think of a new way to teach children. Since 1969, Sesame Street has taught basic maths, reading, and social skills to children worldwide.
