South Korea 2 Greece 0 (12th June, 2010)

South Korea became the first team at the FIFA 2010 World Cup to take all three points. They beat a very disappointing Greece in Port Elizabeth. The Greeks had never won a game at the Finals. They had never even scored a goal. They kept both of these records in a 2-0 loss to the Koreans. This was a very interesting match. South Korea outplayed and outclassed Greece for most of the 90 minutes. Their goalkeeper was pretty much a spectator – the Greek attack gave him very little to do. South Korea opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Lee Jung-soo had an easy tap-in at the back post. The second goal came in the 52nd minute. Park Ji-sung got hold of a poor back pass from a Greek defender to coolly slot the ball home.
