READING:

People are angry about cars parked on pavements. They cannot walk safely on the street. They have to walk into the road to get around cars. A charity for the blind said this was "inconsiderate and dangerous". It is difficult for blind people if cars block their way. The charity said it is scary for people to step into the road. It said: "Imagine you have to step into a road where you can't see oncoming traffic."

A survey found that 70% of people want to ban parking on pavements. One town fines people who park on the pavement. Many people say the fines do not work. Car owners don't care about the $115 fine and park where they want. People with baby cars and people in wheelchairs are afraid to walk on busy roads. There might be a serious accident because of a car parked on the pavement. London has strict rules against pavement parking.
