The glass used to make the screens on many of the world's smartphones just tougher. Corning, the company that the glass, has just made a stronger version. It is Gorilla Glass and has been used in smartphones for many years. Corning has greatly the glass to make it more difficult to , crack or smash. The new product is called Gorilla Glass Victus. It can drops of up to two metres without any signs of damage. It also two times more scratch-resistant than other glass.

Corning spokesperson John Bayne reporters about the new product. He said: "Dropped phones can in broken phones, but as we better glass, phones survived more drops. However, they also showed more visible scratches, which can the usability of a device." He said it was important to a new glass that could survive drops from greater heights and more difficult to scratch.
