Babies given away on Pakistan TV show (4th August, 2013)

A TV show in Pakistan gave away two baby girls. The show's host is the popular celebrity Aamir Liaquat Hussain. He gave the babies to two childless couples. He usually gives away computers, bicycles, etc. People think Hussain gave away the babies to be more popular during Ramadan. TV shows try to get more viewers during Ramadan. The baby giveaway worked because more people watched Hussain's show. He will give away a baby boy next week.

A charity rescued the babies from the street. It often finds babies on the street or in garbage bins. Some of them are dead or hurt by animals. It wants the babies to go to a good home. The charity talks to new parents many times. The parents must register with the charity. New mother Soraya Bilquis waited 17 years for her new baby daughter. She said: "I can't describe how happy I am because someone will grow up and call me mother."
