A new project to help English learners their reading skills may soon be way, if the developers can reach their funding target. The proposed concept is a series "multiple-path" story books which the reader can choose the direction the story. Unlike conventional novels that are linear, multiple path stories provide the reader options regarding where they want the story to go. It is the brainchild teacher and author Marcos Benevides. He said: "The stories combine all the enjoyment traditional 2nd-person multi-path stories the accessible language that developing readers need, all in a high-quality package that appeals to adults as well as to adventurous kids." The project hopes to receive funding the Kickstarter.com website. This site is a new way to fund creative projects. Since its launch 2009, 4.8 million people have pledged $793 million, funding 48,000 creative projects. Thousands creative projects are currently raising funds Kickstarter. If successful, Mr Benevides' project will be one the first, if not the first, English language teaching projects to get going using Kickstarter. Benevides said: "The plan is to launch the first three titles January 1st, then one per month that. the end 2014, we hope that the series will have become self-sustaining. If that happens, we will continue producing new titles indefinitely."
