Two popular restaurants in Paris like beautiful people. They give them better tables than ordinary people. Staff who used to work there said good-looking customers get the good places. Other people can see them. Ordinary diners sat in the corner. Celebrity guests always got good tables. The waiters and waitresses also had to look good. Anyone who was short, without a model's body and over 30 could not work there.
The owners have a 'beauty policy'. They want the restaurants to have a good image. If one owner saw a "non-attractive" person at a good table, he told the staff: "There are good-looking people, you put them here; there are bad-looking people, you put them there." Customers who made telephone bookings could not ask for a favourite table. Staff decided which table to give them after they came to the restaurant. They needed to check their faces.
