Alternative medicine is popular in Bahrain. More people are trying it. They are trying hypnotherapy and reiki. They want to change their feelings, stop smoking or have more energy. People are also interested in other kinds of alternative medicine, like homeopathy and acupuncture. Alternative medicine heals the body without medicine. There is little scientific research on it. There are very few university courses on it in western countries.
Alternative medicine clinics opened in Bahrain in 2012. Bahrain is making sure new clinics are safe. More people want to open their own clinics. They are sending applications to the government. Bahrain's health minister needs to see qualifications. It also wants clinics to have a business plan. Many Bahrainis do not understand alternative medicine. They think it is a kind of magic, or something that you cannot trust.
