Professor Stephen Hawking, one at by from in of off on out to with the world's most renowned scientists, has warned that robots and machines at by from in of off on out to with artificial intelligence could one day mean the end at by from in of off on out to with us all. Professor Hawking recently told the BBC at by from in of off on out to with an interview that: "The development at by from in of off on out to with full artificial intelligence (AI) could spell the end at by from in of off on out to with the human race." The famous cosmologist made his warning at by from in of off on out to with response at by from in of off on out to with a question about an update to the app he uses to allow him to communicate. Hawking suffers at by from in of off on out to with motor neuron disease (also known as ALS) and needs a special voice synthesizer to talk. The update will be able to predict words he might want to use based at by from in of off on out to with his previous communication. Hawking said that AI has given many benefits to many people. He said it is still at by from in of off on out to with its early stages at by from in of off on out to with development, but when it becomes more sophisticated, it could prove a threat at by from in of off on out to with our existence. He said: "It would take at by from in of off on out to with on its own, and re-design itself at by from in of off on out to with an ever increasing rate. Humans, who are limited at by from in of off on out to with slow biological evolution, couldn't compete, and would be superseded." This is not the first time he has issued such a warning. He gave a more chilling warning at by from in of off on out to with April 2014, saying: "One can imagine such technology outsmarting financial markets, at by from in of off on out to with -inventing human researchers, at by from in of off on out to with -manipulating human leaders, and developing weapons we cannot even understand."
