The Reading / Listening - Electricity - Level 0

People in the UK could get free electricity this summer. Power companies can generate more than enough energy on sunny days. They do not want to waste it. In summer, they can use solar panels more. Energy companies say people could use washing machines and charge their electric cars for free when the sun is shining.

The idea for free power came from an energy operator. It is responsible for creating energy today, and for reaching carbon zero. It explained that it would reward people for "flexible electricity use". The company National Gas believes there could be free electricity this summer even if there is war in the Middle East.
