Ferrari has unveiled its first ever fully electric car. The luxury sports car maker showed the car to the world Monday. It is called Luce, which means "light" Italian. The new car is also the first five-seater vehicle produced Ferrari. It is not cheap. Anyone wanting to buy one must have deep pockets, as it costs $640,000. The Ferrari website highlighted why people might want to buy the car. It wrote: "The Ferrari Luce... lies the heart an ecosystem collaborations outstanding technology partners. We have created a car that combines unique driving emotions extraordinary performance, driving pleasure, and comfort the [Ferrari drivers] today and tomorrow."
The Luce was developed and co-designed the former Apple chief designer Jony Ive. He was responsible the designs the iMac computer, iPhone, iPad and the Apple Watch. Many reviewers have said the Luce looks an "Apple car". The Verge website wrote: "Luce looks almost nothing a Ferrari. In fact, it looks more something Apple would make." However, the car does have Ferrari's power and speed. It can go 0-100 kph 2.5 seconds and has a top speed over 310 kph. The car has four electric motors — one each wheel. It also has a range over 500 kilometres between charges. A Ferrari marketing officer said the Luce was "absolutely stunning".
