The EU is worried about energy prices. It said: "We are facing a price crisis." It said using less energy could lower energy prices. It is becoming difficult for countries to get enough oil and gas. Gas storage in Europe is only 68 per cent full. The EU wants countries to use less energy until things get better.

In particular, the EU is worried about diesel prices. Diesel is used for farming and other industries. High diesel prices increase food prices. The EU gets 50 per cent of its diesel from the USA. Recently, President Donald Trump talked about keeping its diesel. The EU wants to produce more clean energy.
