The Reading / Listening - Reclusiveness - Level 1

Many people stay at home. They do not want to go out and shut themselves off from the world. They do not want to meet other people. They are recluses. South Korea will help these people to "re-enter society". It will give them $500 a month to leave their home. The cash is for people aged nine to 24. Korea said it wants young people to go out. It will support people's mental and physical health.

About 3 per cent of young Koreans are reclusive. They have big problems living a normal life. There are many reasons for this. These include bullying, family problems, technology and social media. Korea said the $500-a-month payment will help people. The money means the young people could have fewer mental and health problems. Korean people are getting older. Korea needs young people to work to help old people.
