READING:

Actor Tom Cruise, 63, has finally won an Oscar. He was nominated for an Oscar four times in his career, but he never won. Cruise won his Oscar because he is one of the most famous actors ever. He has inspired people by his huge energy to make movies, and by how he makes going to the cinema an experience. Cruise is also famous for doing his own stunts. Many of them are dangerous. An actor thinks Cruise will get four more Oscars in the next 20 years.

Tom Cruise was very happy to win. He said he felt very lucky to be a part of cinema. He said: "Making films is not what I do, it is who I am." He added: "My love for cinema began [when] I was just a little kid in a darkened theatre.…Suddenly, the world was so much larger." He said: "Cinema takes me around the world.…In the [movie] theatre, we laugh together… we hope together. And that is the power of this art form."
